NALMS Kamp Motor Speedway Photos

Below are a few sample photos from the Northern All Star race at Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, IN. The track was extremely racey -- great job by the track crew. Photographer got great shots! Be sure to also check out the winner's circle gallery to view more photos of team Feger after the win :)

Feger Wins NALMS Show at Kamp Motor Speedway!

Team Feger's Bob Pierce car was hooked up at Kamp Motor Speedway on Saturday night!

Jason started sixth in the feature. Both Shepherd and Jason jumped to the top. The looked extremely fast but were having difficulty passing Matthews. Jason made a bid down low and Shep was getting him up high. Heckenast Jr was running really good on the bottom.

Eventually they got past Matthews and reeled in Kevin Weaver. Shep was second and Jason third.

Jason jumped to the middle to get past Shep. On the back straight away, while lapping Brandon Shep, he and Jason barely touched. Brandon spun bringing out the yellow. Luckily, nobody collided with Brandon. With seven laps to go, Jason was second behind Dennis Erb. On the restart, Erb went to the middle and Jason went high. Jason nearly had Erb, the next lap they were side by side. Within another lap Jason pulled away -- smokin' fast.

The Bob Pierce car handled where ever Jason needed it to on the track. It was AWESOME!!! Chris the Advance Shockman was also on hand. So they were able to get a great photo in victory lane with Jason, Austin, Devon, Chris, Posio and Cowboy.

Heckenast Junior ran extremely well, finishing fourth. Richie finished fifth.

Heats were won by Walden, Erb and Matthews.

Thanks to the Northern All Stars and the track crew. The track was in excellent condition!
But OMG -- it was deadly cold again tonight.

Next week, don't know where they are going yet. If the weather isn't co-operating around here, they may head South.

Happy Birthday Nick Catonie!!

Last night was a surprise birthday party for Nick at the Western Tap. The original plan was to leave and go racing at Farmer City. Usually the rig is gone by the time I get home for work. Last night Jason was still checking the radar. It was very evident that sooner or later FC was going to get hit like Bloomington was.

After much discussion, talking to drivers at the track with their cars still in the rigs, talking to drivers who stayed home, talking to other people, should we go, should we stay, the decision was clear. GO TO THE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!

Guys left around 6:30 and really surprised Nick, who has been one Jason's best friends forever -- they played Knocker football together. The Western was packed with friends, Nick was really surprised. The guys even got to see some of their Knocker coaches.

Last year Nick and Aubrey got married and we weren't there --- you guessed it, we went racing. So, it was great to get to be a part of his surprise birthday party!

Loomis' rig pulled up around 9:00, so I knew for sure they made the right decision. Cowboy picked up Ted. I headed to the bar around 10:00 and drank my UV Blue. The band rocked. The Captain Morgan girls were there, they took some photos. If I get them, I'll post them.

The Western Tap is owned by Jay, one of Jason's sponsors, who also owns Mulligans Downtown Bloomington. If you make it to Bloomington and they're not racing, head to the Western or Mulligans, chances are you'll find some of the guys there.

Tonight??? First Gma and I need to attend Jeff Griffin's wedding. As soon as the wedding is over, we will be speeding over to Kamp Motorspeedway in Boswell, Indiana where Jason is the defending dirt late model track champion. Geeez -- doesn't look good in Bloomington, haven't checked the radar yet. Hopefully Boswell hasn't been hit!

FLATS STINK!!

Darn it!! Last night at FC, Jason had a flat in the feature. He started seventh, moved up to third and was challenging Ryan Unzicker for second when he had a flat tire. TWO FLATS IN THREE NIGHTS OF RACING :( Wes lead the feature every lap, Ryan had a good run for second. Shephard was very fast in the feature, started ninth and moved up to fifth. Something broke on Sheps car and he had a flat. He's had bad luck to, with a few flats last week. Earlier in the night, Jason went out to qualify first, unfortunately the timing light wasn't working well, so he had to slowly go around the track till it was fixed. Qualified seventh. Started sixth in the heat. Moved up to fourth. It was extremely cold and windy outside.

There won't be any races tonight. The weather is winning.
YEAH! It is Friday!
As of 10:45 -- Farmer City is still racing!
Unfortunately Kamp has called the races for Sat due to the forecast of SNOW.

Illini 100

Jason just called -- HE WON THE NON-QUALIFIERS!!! YEAH!!!!
Said Eric Smith was second. After bad luck with a flat and a bent lower control arm in last nights heat he had to try to get through a consi. Feger finished fourth in his consi.

As for the feature -- the first Illini 100 at Farmer City Speedway -- he said, as a fan you really couldn't have asked for a much better 100 lap feature that there was plenty of 3 wide racing! Said the track was a little rough in a couple of spots, but it was really a good race.

MontanaMagic kept 4m.net updated, so that's how I knew what was going on. Shout out of thanks to him!

Moyer won! Babb started in the back and moved all the way up to first, Moyer got him on the last lap. Sheppard -- one of my local favorites, had a flat and came back for a good finish. Here's the top 10:
1 BILLY MOYER
2 Shannon Babb
3 Steve Francis
4 Tim McCreadie
5 Wes Steidinger
6 Josh Richards
7 Rick Eckert
8 Darrell Lanigan
9 Steve Sheppard Jr
10 Darren Miller

Illini 100

Great night of racing!
Moyer was awesome lowered FC's track record to 11.9!!! Several cars lowered the record. Wonder if it had to do with the different tire compounds. Jason qualified 10th overall, not bad for the first night out in the car. Think there were like 55 cars from all over the country. Top level competition from the World of Outlaw drivers, Jeep, Ekert, Babb, Moyer, Miller, Smith, Shirley, Kid Rocket, Lanigan, Francis, Clanton, McCreadie, Birky and more.

Unzicker qualified 8th, Feger 10th, Eric Smith, 11th, Sheppard 14th.

Jason started fifth heat outside on the front row with Francis on the inside, Jeep was right behind of Jason. Francis beat Jason on the start and Jason went low in three to try to get him back. Izzo spun on the first lap.

Jason did well on the restart, seemed like he was going to be able to hang near Francis and had a FLAT rear tire!!! Darn it!!!

The guys had only two laps to get the tire changed. I saw them all running to the pit and they got Jason back out on the track. He had to start at the rear of the pack. Passed couple of cars, but when the flat occurred it bent one of the lower control arms :(.

Tonight they are trying to work their way through the feature through the consi. Hope he is able to make it.

Farmer City -- Practice for the WOO Show

Hope the weather holds out for practice at Farmer City tonight. Don't know if Jason will make it over or not.
They still don't have the wrap on the car -- waiting to get it back -- but of course we didn't send the art till early this week as we had some sponsors to add to the car. We have some great new product sponsors -- I'll be adding info to the blog about our sponsors in the next couple of weeks.

For now -- two of our bigger sponsors
BOB PIERCE RACECARS-- what can you say -- Bob and Angie Pierce! Jason absolutely loves working with his childhood hero. Both Bob and Angie work extremely hard making their business a success -- they are great people! We want 2008 to be a bigger year for Bob Pierce Late Models. Visit their site:
bobpierceracecars.com.

Advanced Racing Suspensions
Awesome products, awesome service. If you need suspension stuff (sorry don't know all the technical terms) you need to get a hold of Jason and get the Shockman's number. Chris -- the Shockman is great!! He makes it to as many races as he can, I always tell him I expect more when the Shockman is around. Chris will help you as much as he can, plus it helps that he has suspension products that are top notch! You can also check out their website:
http://www.advancedracingsusp.com/.

Hope to see you at FC this Friday and Saturday!! Come on local guys -- I hope Jason, Wes, Eric and the other local guys tear up the track and make it hard on the big dogs. If one of them can't win -- I gotta go with the Illinois big dogs! Come on Babb, Shirley, Miller and the others :) GO TEAM FEGER!
First post -- new at all this.
Why a blog -- thought it might be easier to update than our website
www.jasonfeger.com. Plus, I thought this way it might be easier for people we know around the country to communicate to us.

Hopefully, between Jason, Austin, Devin and myself -- we'll have several posts a week during racing season to let people know how the team is doing. Jason and Austin are the brothers of Feger Bros Racing. We jokingly say Devin is my third son -- he's pretty much lived at our house in the Summer since he was 12 years old. Posio also is dedicated to making the team succeed. Cowboy also has been helping this year. We've always been lucky -- Jason and Austin have an awesome group of friends who have helped over the years.

If you don't know anything about us -- Our family is highly involved in dirt late model racing -- by highly involved, I mean our family pretty much lives and breathes racing like all the other racing fanatics out there. At my house the racing season never stops. Every night they are out in the garage until usually mid-night or two in the morning. Typically every conversation at the dinner table centers around racing. If the TV is on -- it is on racing. I blame it all on my Dad, Red Griffin, he was an original dirt racing addict. Every week-end growing up -- our family went to the races. Than my brother, Rocky Griffin always raced. Jason and Austin loved watching Rocky race at Farmer City and the local tracks.

The dogs even get excited when they start up the old rig! Samson is ready to go racing. You can find some pixs of Sam and Dixie on our website. Both are Pit Bulls who love going to the races. Matter of fact -- we are all ready to go racing. Some day, some year we hope our season will start down in Florida.

Guess that is plenty of info for a first post.
